Pre-Order: Skooshny – Recordings 1971-1981 [With Booklet] [Digipak]

Description

Expanded reissue of the cult 1991 Skooshny compilation, now collecting all twenty-one of the LA power-pop trio’s recordings from 1971 to 1981 – including four tracks new to this edition. Formed in Los Angeles by Chicago transplants Mark Breyer and David Winogrond, later joined by guitarist Bruce Wagner, Skooshny self-released a handful of singles on their own Alien Records label that earned glowing reviews – Bomp! Compared Breyer’s voice to a young Brian Wilson and the music to a folkier Big Star – before becoming prized collector’s items in Europe. Spanning basement demos, home-studio sessions, and recordings made at Michael Penn’s backyard four-track, this essential collection traces a decade of instinctive, melodic songwriting. Remastered by Prof. Stoned. Digipak with 12-page booklet.
