LP – This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
Johnny Griffin called upon his fellow master practitioners of the tenor saxophone John Coltrane and Hank Mobley for his second Blue Note album A Blowing Session in 1957. The fiery set features trumpeter Lee Morgan balancing out the three-tenor frontline while a rhythm section with pianist Wynton Kelly, bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Art Blakey stokes the fires.
