Andrew Prahlow – Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye

Description

Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye is decidedly darker than its predecessor, and the accompanying musical score follows suit. Sure, the base games music takes an occasional turn toward the dark & mysterious, but for Echoes of the Eye, composer Andrew Prahlow slammed down on those thrusters hard. The result is a more alien and sometimes even more hostile take on the Outer Wilds audio universe, dipping into echoing choral arrangements and staccato soundscapes that remind one of the unforgiving emptiness of space. The true achievement of this score, then, is the way that it evokes all those primal fears of cosmic smallness while still maintaining an undeniably compelling beauty.

Enter those soundscapes again and again through the magic of your turntable on the Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye Vinyl Soundtrack. Within its Black Hole vinyl grooves, youll find the entire Echoes of the Eye score, from Into Shadow kicking off Side A all the way to the Postlude, very likely the final notes youll hear at the end of your Outer Wilds journey.

Its a trip through celestial grandeur, presented in a humble-but-stellar cloth-wrapped tip-on gatefold jacket featuring album art from Mobius Digitals own Ian Jacobson.
