Oxbow – Loves Holiday [Indie Exclusive Limited Edition Red LP]

Description

I’vealways been chagrined that no one understood that our songs were love songs, OXBOWvocalist and lyricist Eugene Robinson says whilereflecting on the bandsoutput from the last 35 years. Love may not have been the most obvious muse intheir earlier work, but the subject hasnever been more apparent than on theireighth studio album and first new music in six years,Loves Holiday, due out July, 21 2023 on IpecacRecordings. But now listening to a record ofexclusively love songs I can see how no one saw that, Robinson admits. Myproblem is how Ithinkabout love as this affects how Ifeelabout it, instead of the other way around. The band again worked withGrammy-winningengineer and co-producer Joe Chiccarelli (White Stripes, MyMorning Jacket).LovesHolidayis the third OXBOW album recorded with Chiccarelli, and the bandmembers uniformly state that their trust in himallowed the album to ventureinto even more inviting directions, featuring guest appearances Roger Joseph Manning Jr. (Jellyfish) and Lingua Ignota. Artwork by Aaron Turner (Isis, Sumac).
