Elton John – Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only The Piano Player – LP

Description

180 Gram Vinyl

Elton John was a superstar when he released Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only the Piano Player in 1973, his most direct, pop-oriented album to date. Designed as a pastiche of classic and contemporary pop styles, the album demonstrates the diversity of the Elton John/Bernie Taupin team. Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only the Piano Player was his second straight #1 album in the US, yielding his first No. 1 single in both the US and Canada: “Crocodile Rock”. “Daniel” was also a major hit from the album, giving him his second Canadian #1 single on the RPM Top Singles Chart and just missing the top slot south of the border, stalling at #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and reaching #4 in the UK, one place higher than achieved by “Crocodile Rock”.
