Carmen McRae – I’m Coming Home Again [Indie Exclusive Solar Flare Effect]

Description

Indie Exclusive – Official selection of RSD Black Friday UK – Originally released in 1980, this powerful double album marked a late-career highlight for vocalist Carmen McRae, joined by CTI jazz legends Freddie Hubbard, Hubert Laws, Hank Crawford, and Grover Washington Jr. Far from simple covers, McRae reimagines pop standards like I Wont Last a Day Without You (Carpenters) and New York State of Mind (Billy Joel) as soulful, jazz-drenched performances. The set also features two distinct vocal takes on Grover Washington Jr.s Mr. Magic. Now reissued for the first time in over 40 years as the full session.
