Lou Salome – Just Something You Cared About In High School [With Booklet]

Description

Lou Salome is a love story brought to life as a band-a cinematic romance between New York City glam-rock poet Leah Hennessey (Pornography, Make Out; stepdaughter of David Johansen of the New York Dolls) and Los Angeles dream-pop musician and actor Jack Kilmer (son of the late Val Kilmer). Jack, known for his roles in Palo Alto, Lords of Chaos, Val, Hala, and The Nice Guys, brings a distinct, cinematic sensibility to the project, merging music and storytelling with an intimate, nostalgic energy. Together, they create Lou Salome, a musical universe where glam rock, dream-pop, and fuzz-drenched indie collide.Their debut album, Just Something You Cared About in High School, is a lush, immersive archive of lost youth. Every track traces the arc of infatuation, emotional collapse, and the intoxicating myth of rock & roll as both escape and salvation. The record is cinematic and raw, like a VHS recording of a first love-grainy, vivid, and unforgettable. From hazy riffs to tender lyricism, Lou Salome’s sound is both immediate and timeless, echoing the fevered emotions of adolescence while maintaining a sophisticated, artful approach. This debut is a record-store moment: it’s collectible, sonically distinct, and steeped in a narrative that feels larger than life. Lou Salome combines pedigree, personality, and undeniable chemistry, making them a compelling addition to any indie or specialty music shelf. For fans of fuzzy glam rock, dream-pop, or artists who blur the lines between music and cinematic storytelling, Just Something You Cared About in High School is essential listening-a record that invites you into a world of romance, rebellion, and memory that lingers long after the last track fades.Lou Salome isn’t just a band-they’re a story, a mood, and a record that sounds like falling in love on a VHS tape.
