Pre-Order: West, Don – Don West – Black Vinyl [LP]

Description

Riding the wave of the global soul revival, Don West is carving out his own distinctive place in the genre. Drawing inspiration from legends like Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield, as well as contemporary artists such as Jalen Ngonda and Thee Sacred Souls, Don West brings a fresh yet timeless sound to modern soul. His self-titled, debut EP was released in November 2024 and is now available for the first time on vinyl. Across the EP, themes of self-reflection, relationships, and emotional honesty take center stage. He leans into understated lyricism, favoring simplicity and nuance over dramatic expression. This approach gives the songs a personal edge while keeping them open and relatable, allowing listeners to find their own meaning within the music.Australia’s only Spotify Radar Artist for 2025, West has already been nominated for Australian Independent Records Awards for Best Soul/RnB Release and APRA AMCOS Most Performed Soul/RnB Work.
