The Blueshift Big Band – Joystick Jazz: The Blueshift Big Band Plays Classic Mario Tunes (Vol. 3)

Description

triple jump here, a little dash there, a well-placed Koopa stomp, a slide all the way to the flagpoleThe fast, frenetic platforming of the Super Mario Bros. series demands a ton of reaction, rhythm, and improvisation. Theres something undeniably jazz-like about the action, and the series legendary music embodies that same spirit.

With this incredible album, The Blueshift Big Band has paid a loving tribute to that one-of-a-kind sound. This is Joystick Jazz: The Blueshift Big Band Plays Classic Mario Tunes (Vol. 3) Vinyl Soundtrack!

While the previous two entries in the Joystick Jazz collection drew from a wider assortment of nostalgia-inducing video game soundtracks, one legendary franchise (starring a particularly iconic plumber with panache) was notably absent. Now you know why those jazzy geniuses were saving their interpretations for one mega-LP, packed with tunes from all over the series history spanning Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Odyssey, and even spin-offs like Mario Kart 64.

And since this is another iam8bit collaboration, you know the deal: Youre getting even more legendary artwork from our award-winning friend Mark Borgions, high-quality sound-snob approved black vinyl, and a bonus digital download of all the included music.

This is iam8bits third collaboration with the uber-talented Blueshift Big Band! Check out Volume 1 and Volume 2 for more snazzy, finger-snappin toe-tappin goodness.
