THE BUDOS BAND – The Budos Band II – LP – Vinyl

Description

LP – Black Vinyl

With their 22 legs, three horns, and a never-ending supply of hallucinogenic funk venom, The Budos Band, the unchallenged emperors of instrumental Staten Island Afro-soul, continue to rule with deadly intent.

While their debut album was heralded as a groundbreaking and unbridled exploration of psychedelic funk, Afrobeat, and soul music, few could predict that their second effort would not only match but surpass the realm of mind expansion embodied on their first sessions. Through ten exciting new instrumentals recorded live at Daptone’s Brooklyn House of Soul, with resident studio wizard Bosco Mann at the controls, The Budos Band pours themes at once resonant and ethereal over herculean rhythms, highlighting the subtleties of their collective ability to navigate eerie and captivating melodic arrangements through the psychedelic soundscape of their distinct deep rhythmic soul universe.

The musicians claim the secret to their enormous sound is a selfless approach to the groove, with each man finding his own place in the track. More importantly, The Budos Band have soul on the inside, and it’s strong.
