Description
For over a decade, Nika Roza Danilova hasbeenrecording music asZolaJesus. Shesbeen on Sacred Bones Recordsfor most of that time, andOkovi markedherreunionwith the label. Fittingly, the11electronics-driven songs onOkovi share DNAwith her earlywork on Sacred Bones. The musicwas written in purecatharsis, and as aresult, the sonics are heavy, dark, andexploratory. In addition tothe contributions of Danilovas longtime live bandmate AlexDeGroot, producer/musicianWIFE, cellist/noise-maker ShannonKennedy fromPedestrianDeposit, andpercussionistTed Byrnes all helped buildOkovis textural universe.
